Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun proud of NL win in All-Star Game – MLB News
The Milwaukee Brewers' out-fielder Ryan Braun on Wednesday, July 11, stated that he takes a lot of pride in National League winning the third consecutive All-Star Game. The outfielder who was instrumental in the team’s win attributed it to the supply of talented players that the league has.
"It's big for all of us," Braun said. "We take a lot of pride in winning this game, our third consecutive win. We believe we have a lot of young talent on this side, and you recognize the meaning and significance of this game. We're absolutely excited we won."
The All-Star Game saw the National League outclass the American League 8-0, the first shut-out since 1996. As for Ryan Braun, who was playing his fifth All-Star Game, he had two crucial hits in the highly anticipated All-Star Game.
Braun added another glory to his already enviably majestic career with two hits in the game that resulted in the team’s 8-0 win. It is worthwhile to recall here that Braun was 0-for-7 in the last three appearances in the All-Star Game.
His fifth appearance in the All-Star Game in itself is a matter of great pride. Braun has been a source of invaluable strength to the team, helping it win the big games ever since he has joined the Brewers.
The out-fielder has witnessed ascension in his career as he was in the news for all the wrong reason earlier this year when the disclosure of his failed drug test was made. That would have tainted his career, not to mention the 50-game suspension that he was facing.
Nevertheless, he won the appeal and staged his way back in the club. Since then, he has – once again, done what he is famous for.
In 80 games, with 307 at-bats, he has held an impressive .306 batting average coupled with .599 slugging percentage He has 61 RBIs and 24 home-runs to his credit.
He is in the NL ranking for his best BA, SLG and OPS, also for most HR, R and RBIs. As it seems, he will end the season remaining on top in many of them.
