Milwaukee Brewers complete four-game sweep over Florida Marlins 7-2 – MLB Update
Milwaukee Brewers effortlessly swept the four-game series on Monday, June 6, by beating the Florida Marlins 7-2 at Sun Life Stadium, Miami.
Zack Greinke pitched seven innings allowing two runs and Prince Fielder hit a two-run homer to bestow 7-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. The Marlins are to sceptically look into the team performance and formulate a viable strategy to come out of the apparent
abyss.
That is an observation whose criticality is well-understood and acknowledged by the team manager. "We have to regroup and go back to what we were doing before this series," manager Edwin Rodriguez said.
While Florida were able to stand, fight and resist to lose by the close margin of one run in the concluded series’ three games, the Brewers this time managed to win by a 7-2 margin that was fairly welcoming for the team manager.
"It's really nice,” the Brewers’ manager Roenicke said. "You're not on edge the last couple of innings. You bring in the pitchers who need to get work, and that's really nice to do."
And the win, which also completed the first four-game series for Brewers since 2008, by such a big margin would arguably be intensely difficult were it not for Zack Greinke."With the close games, we've been wearing out our seventh-, eighth- and ninth-inning
guys," Greinke said. "I tried to take it deep into the game and make it easy on some of them."
Ryan Braun opened the account for the Brewers in the very first inning by taking Javier Vazquez to task. The lead did not last long as Logan Morrison of the Marlins levelled the score in the first inning.
Allowing one run then strengthened Greinke’s resolve to go tougher on the Marlins’ offence and the strategy worked out. Prince Fielder, in the meanwhile, had an exquisite addition for the excitingly in-form team.
Fielder hit a three-run homer to pile up the lead to 4-1 in the third inning. While the Marlins had lost by only one run previously, Logan Morrison scored a single in the third inning, triggering hopes that it would be another close encounter.
Fielder earned his fourth run in the seventh inning to take it up to 7-2. Tim Dillard and Sergio Mitre pitched shut-out eighth and ninth inning to seal the 7-2 victory for the Milwaukee Brewers.
