Milwaukee Brewers crush Miami Marlins 8-5 – MLB Recap
The Milwaukee Brewers crushed the Miami Marlins 8-5 in the third game of their four-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, September 5 at Marlins Park in Miami.
Rickie Weeks’ two homers helped the Brewers edge past the Marlins with ease. Weeks did well on his five at-bats as he scored three runs and two hits on his persistent .395 slugging percentage. He also added four RBIs and remained calm on the plate.
"The biggest thing is we keep seeing the standings and trying to creep up on everybody, but at the same time we have some pretty good professionals in here who want to come in and try to keep winning ball games, We kind of know what is at stake right now. We feel pretty good about ourselves. I'm feeling good right now," Weeks said.
Later Brewers’ manager Ron Roenicke said, "Hopefully, we continue this for a little bit, but if we do it could be fun, We're playing really good ball, it's good to hear, it will be better when we are .500,"
Along with Weeks, the Brewers' pitchers also performed well and earned a great victory for their team. They all played according to the desired situation of their manager and won in the end.
Starter Wily Peralta pitched six innings and received three runs and five hits. He struck-out three while his ERA remained consistent at 5.14.
His pitching alone was enough to seal the victory for the Brewers. Peralta kept the Marlins' batters under pressure during his fine innings.
Relief pitcher Kameron Loe also played well and supported his team with great stability. He pitched 0.1 innings and received two runs and three hits on his consistent 3.90 ERA.
Marlins’ pitchers did not play well and lost bitterly in the end. They pitched way-ward and could not save the game against the Brewers persistent offence.
Starter Nate Eovaldi pitched five innings and allowed two runs and six hits. He struck-out four and received one homer as well. He did not pitch accurately and lost the game with bitter humiliation.
