Milwaukee Brewers crush Pittsburgh Pirates 10-4 – MLB
Milwaukee Brewers crushed the Pittsburgh Pirates 10-4 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Monday, April 29 at Miller Park in Milwaukee.
"We came out really aggressive. Today, everyone was swinging good," Gomez said. "One through nine, even the pitchers, we can drive the ball."
Brewers showed their true offensive class and hammered the Pirates’ entire roster big time. Especially pitchers never let the Pirates batters to swing their bats freely. The Brewers pitchers pitched in right areas and played wonderfully during the entire
game.
“We turned the page today," said Segura, who hit a two-run shot in the first inning. "I feel great at the plate right now. I'm relaxed and having fun."
Not only pitchers, the Brewers hitters also played wonderfully well and won the game with great ease. Their consistent hitters played well up in first five innings of the match and rattled the Pirates pitchers with great force.
On the other hand, the Pirates pitchers and at the same time their hitters could not do much on Brewers full time thrashing. They eventually left with no-confidence in the field and lost the game in the end.
"They play well here. You've got to do some things different than we did tonight to slow down the offense. We didn't," Pittsburgh manager Clint Hurdle said. "We weren't able to execute any part of our game plan. Zero."
Yovani Gallardo was the key main behind the Brewers win on Monday night. He pitched seven solid innings and allowed only two runs and two hits. He struck out five and maintained his 4.25 ERA.
Relief pitcher Alfredo Figaro pitched one inning and allowed two runs and two hits. He allowed two earned runs and struck out one on 3.60.
The Pirates pitchers however, did not play well and defeated by a huge margin. Wandy Rodriguez started the game for the Pirates but lost his early composure as he was hit with six hits allowing seven runs and seven earned runs along with three homers.
His pitching alone caused the Pirates big time as they could not bounce back in the game losing with 10-4.
