Milwaukee Brewers defeat Miami Marlins 8-4 – MLB Recap
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Miami Marlins 8-4 in the second game of their four-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, September 4 at Marlins Park in Miami.
Brewers’ upfront pitchers played tremendously and earned a great victory for their team. They played as one unit and rattled the Marlins with big force.
"He really was good today, Even the last ball they got to him in left-center, he hammered it. This is a big ball park and he goes deep to right-center and then hits a ball to the warning track in left-center. He hammered balls today," Brewers' manager Ron Roenicke said.
Shaun Marcum started the game for the Brewers as he pitched 5.2 innings and received seven hits and four runs. He struck-out three while he maintained his ERA at 3.53.
“Any time you go out there and they give you an early lead you obviously want to keep it, I didn't do my job and keep it, but they went out there, battled back got some big runs and big hits," Marcum said
Relief pitcher Kameron Loe pitched one inning and did not allow any run or hit on his consistent 3.62 ERA.
Francisco Rodriguez also played well and pitched one solid inning on his consistent 5.03 ERA. He struck-out two while he remained confident on the mound and kept the Marlins’ batters under pressure.
Jim Henderson pitched one inning and received only one hit on his 3.24 ERA. He struck-out two while he was also one of the winning factors for the Brewers.
On the other hand, the Marlins' pitchers disappointed their team with their poor pitching.
Starter Wade LeBlanc pitched six innings and allowed three runs and five hits. He struck-out only one batter and received a homer as well on his 2.72 ERA.
"I definitely finished better than I started, Against a lineup like those guys have," LeBlanc said.
Relief pitcher Ryan Webb also pitched poorly as he allowed one important run and a hit on his short spell of 0.2 innings. He only struck-out one batter while his ERA rose to 4.38.
