Milwaukee Brewers edge Chicago Cubs 8-7 – MLB Recap
The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Chicago Cubs 8-7 in the first game of their three-match regular series on Friday, May 11, at Miller Park, Milwaukee in 2012 Major League Baseball season and took a commanding position in the series.
Chicago manager Dale Sveum said for his team’s poor loss, "Unfortunately, when Lendy came out, he hit a couple guys to start the inning, It wasn't in our favor to start with in that inning when he did that."
Right fielder Corey Hart literally won the game for the Brewers as he smashed a homer in ninth inning and made single in 13th inning which eventually proved winner factor for his team.
"He looked good, A lot of good at-bats. I can't remember all of them. He got hit pretty good," Manager Ron Roenicke said for Hart, who played a wonderful game for the Brewers.
He added for his team explaining, "There was a lot going on, A lot good things, quite a few not-so-good things on both sides. It was an interesting ballgame. I didn't know what was going to happen."
The Brewers closer, who pitched the last two innings with enormous energy, also commented in the media about his teammate’s tremendous play.
Chulk said, "It feels good, It's nice to go out there and have the confidence to go out there and get stuff done."
Though the Brewers won with little margin, but the game went into 13th innings which was the real thing that made this particular game much interesting. The start of the game was certainly upbeat where both team’s pitchers played well and never
allowed any apposing hitter to play them easy.
However, both team started their thrust in the seventh innings scoring four runs each. Later in the ninth innings, the Cubs took a one run lead and looked confident to take the game away, but not only the Brewers batters bounced with two more runs, but they
also defeated them in the 13th inning and won the game in style.
In the meanwhile, the next game is scheduled on Saturday May 12 on same venue.
