Milwaukee Brewers hammer San Diego Padres 6-3 – MLB Recap
Milwaukee Brewers hammer hard the San Diego Padres 6-3 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, April 23 at Petco Park in San Diego.
It was the second consecutive win for the Brewers. They won the first game of the series 7-1. Now winning the series with one game to spare, the Brewers are roaring to seal another good win on Wednesday.
Brewers played brilliantly throughout the game and won in style. They showed no mercy and hammer hard entire Padres roster especially their pitchers.
“It was a struggle, His command, ball-strike ratio in the first three innings -- that wasn't him. But I was glad to see somewhere in there that he got it together. If he can keep us in ballgames and win ballgames when he's struggling, it's going to be a
nice thing when he gets going," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said of Yovani Gallardo's start
Milwaukee players looked confident even before the game. They approached the Padres home field with inner confidence and as they started playing, the outclassed their opponents in every field.
Padres’ pitchers looked ordinary on the mound. They could not just show their natural game and lost bitterly in the end.
"The Brewers had good at-bats against Clayton, They had a lot of opposite-field hits and they were taking what he was giving them. They strung some hits together in the second after the leadoff walk, and it kind of snowballed from there," Padres manager
Bud Black said.
Padres’ starter Clayton Richard allowed six runs and six hits. He pitched only 1.2 innings and struck out only one on his blistering high 7.94 ERA.
Though later the Padres relievers played carefully and did not allow any run but still they could not save the game for their team.
On the other hand, the Brewers hitters and at the same time pitchers showed brilliant plays and won the game with quite ease.
Brewers’ starter Yovani Gallardo pitched 6.2 innings and received three runs only. He allowed eight hits while he struck out two on his consistent 4.97 ERA.
