Milwaukee Brewers inspired after Packers’ Super Bowl triumph
If there’s pressure mounting on the Milwaukee Brewers it’s probably happening right now. There is a lot of energy grooming over the past few days and with the Green Bay Packers clinching the Super Bowl XLV trophy, that force has taken flight.
The baseball franchise is under some serious expectations and they apparently have the ball team to make the right moves. The Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 31 – 25 and that has left a lot of expectation on the shoulders of the Brewers.
Zack Greinke made his way to the Brewers’ roster in the winter break season, following a trade deal with the Kansas City Royals. He’s not the only serious pitcher to power the Milwaukee ball forward.
He’s backed by Shaun Marcum, who also came over to the club on a trade deal. The two pitchers are going to be the key components in the rotation and that is something the management will be riding behind in the new season.
Ryan Braun, who’s a good friend of Packers’ quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, commented on the expectation behind his club this season. He was able to talk about the baseball team and the anticipation behind their playoff bid.
"There's definitely a buzz around the Packers", said Braun, "but there's a buzz around this baseball team, too. People are genuinely excited, probably more so than they've been in years. The last time I can remember anything like this happening was when
we traded for CC (Sabathia in 2008), but that was such a short period of time".
Braun went on to say that the awakening of energy behind their players has lingered far too long. It’s been in the works for a while and they all stay in touch. He reiterated that they are eager to start their campaign for glory soon.
Third Baseman, Casey McGehee, commented on the Packers and highlighted team work, to be the leading component in the mix. He wrote an email to the press explaining his opinion.
"This was one of my favourite Super Bowls I have ever seen", McGehee wrote. "I thought it was so fitting that the Packers were able to overcome more injuries in this game just like they did throughout the course of the season. I could not help but think
of how that team represents the Wisconsin sports fan - hard working and blue collar all the way".
If there’s one thing the fans will be hoping for, this season, it would most probably be the World Series trophy clinch by the Brewers. Will the added firepower in the rotation be enough? No one knows that for sure.
