Milwaukee Brewers’ left-fielder Ryan Braun could face severe MLB drug rules – MLB News
The Milwaukee Brewers’ left-fielder Ryan Braun is currently been suspected of using Performance-Enhancing Drug (PED) as he has tested positive three days ago.
However, the credibility of these tests were dubious as many medical experts still objecting on their full authentication. But despite these all speculations, several Major League Baseball experts are now optimistic as Ryan might face some serious consequences
in the upcoming days.
The banded PED drugs are clearly listed on the new and old collective labour agreements while every player and their managements also know about all these drugs which have been banned for several years now.
Gary I. Wadler, who is a professor of medicine at Hofstra North Shores LIJ School of Medicine and ex- chairman of the World Anti-Doping Agency's Prohibited List and Method subcommittee, has recently commented in the media giving details about the PED and
MLB’s involvement if anybody finds responsible using these drugs.
Wadler said, “In the world of doping, we use the principle of strict liability, so if you knew how it got there or not, if it's in your body, you are held accountable. Nor is it a legal issue, what is legal in the United States may not be permitted in the
sport of baseball. Everyone is fixated on home runs, but testosterone flies under the radar screen.”
The news of Braun’s involvement in PED drug controversy was first hit in the media when an inside MLB source told the media that Braun, “tested positive for a substance banned under the program.”
Though as soon as this news came in the media it shocked the masses who thought Ryan Braun is truly their hero as he won this year’s National League Most Valuable Player Award for his season long consistent performance. People are still waiting for the whole
realities of Braun’s indulgence with an act of possibly cheating the system itself.
Braun and his lawyer are busy preparing a defence draft in which the reality of using these (PED) drugs will be revealed to the general public pretty soon. Both are also preparing a joint press conference in couple of days’ time.
