Milwaukee Brewers optimistic about Ryan Braun’s return – MLB News
The fate of dominating National League Most Valuable Player Ryan Braun’s appeal against a 50-game suspension remains as uncertain as ever. On Friday, February 17, the Milwaukee Brewers’ team manager Ron Roenicke stated that he was working on the assumption
that Ryan Braun will be with the team for all 162 games.
"I'm working on the assumption that he's on the team, that he's going to be with us all 162 games," manager Ron Roenicke said.
It is pertinent to mention here that soon after the discovery that Ryan Braun had tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs (PED), chances of Braun playing the 2012 regular season almost faded away due to the possibility of suspension for him.
Nonetheless, Major League Baseball stopped short of announcing the positive test as the Milwaukee Brewers’ outfielder decided to challenge the test result. Since then, there has been very little information about the proceedings currently lying with the
three-person jury.
What has led to this air of uncertainty is the fact that most of the decisions about testing process are kept confidential. Since confidentiality retains such preponderant significance, the Brewers shall not be informed about MLB’s decision on Braun’s appeal
until it is final.
There might well be the aggressive pursuit of the whole case since it involves the best player of the club. The Brewers will descend on the ballpark this season to defend their National League title; something they had won last year after almost two decades.
The duo of Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder had played an important role in helping the club hoist the winning and fluttering flag. Prince Fielder had become free-agent and then signed a contact with the Detroit Tigers.
With his departure, the team has lost a quality slugger. That was not the end of it, there subsequently was Ryan Braun’s case; something that has yet to see the end result as the Brewers await the possible outcome.
For now, it seems, the club thinks MLB might well accept the appeal of Ryan Braun. If that happens, the National League Champions will be all set to wreck havoc on any defence in the Division.
