Milwaukee Brewers outclassed by Washington Nationals 4-10 as Wily Peralta leaks runs - MLB Update
Starter Wily Peralta allows early momentum to the opposition by surrendering three runs as he costs the Milwaukee Brewers a 4-10 defeat against Washington Nationals at Nationals Park, Washington, D.C. on September 22, 2012 in the second game of the four
game series.
Peralta did not last for a long time on the mound. He was scratched after little more than two innings. He was nearly helpless from the start as he gave up doubles and leaked hits.
Not only the pitchers but Brewers’ batters were also unimpressive. The first run by Brewers was scored in the sixth inning which shows they were not successful against the Nationals’ starter Gio Gonzalez. Striking just six hits in the game means that their
offence was far from its best on Saturday.
Brewers tried to bounce back late in the innings but in vain as the Nationals’ lead was substantial.
Taylor Green stood up for the Brewers offensively as he contributed two RBIs while facing one at-bat and striking one hit. His homer brought two runs and helped the Brewers improve their total to some extent.
Brewers’ manager Ron Roenicke elaborates his objectives in the remaining games of the season. He wants to make sure most of the matches are won by them if not all. In this regard, he will be eyeing on beating the Nationals in the last two games of the series.

"I don't feel like we have to win every single game the rest of the season -- I don't feel that -- but I tell you what: We better win most of them or almost all of them," Ron Roenicke said.
The fact the Nationals are the strongest team in the National League East Division will make it extremely hard for the Brewers to bounce back in the series. Unless they score a greater number of runs, avoiding defeats will not be easy.
Commenting on the poor show by his starter Peralta in the game, Roenicke said he never found his feet right on the mound.
"He really couldn't get comfortable," Roenicke said. "The mound's a little bit different, and he found that out in the first inning."
It will be interesting to see which strategy the Brewers employ to keep the Nationals from beating them in the last two matches of the series.
