Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun using services of highly experienced lawyer in drug case
Ryan Braun was not the only one to face a major setback in his clean reputation as one the Major League Baseball’s (MLB) best players when he was alleged to have failed a drug test earlier in the week when tests proved the player to have insanely high levels
of testosterone in his blood.
"It was not a PED, drug or steroid of any kind," the source close to ESPN.com wrote in a text message. "And there has never been a result like this in the history of the [MLB drug testing] program."
The Milwaukee Brewers also suffered after one of their top players had accusations levelled against him, affecting the reputation of the team.
In order to clear the name of himself and the team he has spent the last few seasons with, Ryan Braun will be using the services of one of the top lawyers in the nation with immense experience in battling drug related sport cases, David Cronwell.
Cronwell, who is a sports attorney by profession, is well versed in the world of drug related tests that players have to go through and those that profess their innocence; he is the man to take their side and represent them in their respective hearings.
The MLB also reacted when harsh criticism was spurt about the player from various corners around the nation by issuing a statement in defence of the player until he is proven guilty in the hearing.
"Our Joint Drug Agreement is designed to protect a player from a rush to judgment before he can challenge a reported positive test result. Fairness dictates that Ryan Braun be treated no differently. I urge all to reserve judgment on this matter until the
JDA's process has played itself out," said MLB Players Association executive director, Michael Weiner, on Tuesday.
Cronwell and Braun are set to defend and fight the case in the upcoming month of January in which the hearing is set. It will be interesting to see how the situation plays out and whether it is what people expect or not.
Further developments on the issue can be expected close to the hearing date.
