Milwaukee Brewers pound Houston Astros 9-5 – MLB Recap
Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Houston Astros 9-5 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Saturday, September 29 at Miller Park in Milwaukee.
"As long as I can jog it's a lot easier, So, it was a little easier tonight. I'm trying to go as long as I can," said Corey Hart.
Brewers played wonderfully and outclassed the Astros with great energy. They put up a huge score and later defended it with great determination.
"That's a pretty potent offense over there and they showed why they're where they're at, Once you fall behind, he didn't have much left. He didn't have enough velocity, just one of those days for him," Interim manager Tony DeFrancesco said.
It was well fought victory for the Brewers who stood tall against the Astros' entire roster and edge past them with a heavy hammering.
Right fielder Norichika Aoki played tremendously and scored two runs and smashed three hits along with two RBIs on his .437 slugging percentage.
Third baseman Aramis Ramirez also showed offensive plays and scored two runs and smashed three hits along with two important RBIs on his consistent .543 slugging percentage.
Along with batters, the Brewers’ pitchers also played well and earned a great victory in the end. They all played as one unit and rattled the Astros.
Marco Estrada pitched eight solid innings and received four hits. He did not allow any run and retired eleven Astros batters on his 3.64 ERA.
"That shook me up, I was trying too hard early. He told me, 'Hey, relax. Let's go, It was a little pep talk, that's all, I was a little erratic out there. I wasn't really throwing strikes," Estrada said.
Livan Hernandez also played well and pitched 0.2 innings as he received five hits. His ERA remained consistent at 6.42 while his overall pitching proved one of the winning factors for the Brewers.
On the other hand, the Astros' pitchers did not play well and lost with bitter humiliation.
Especially their starter Dallas Keuchel spoiled the game as he received seven runs and eight hits along with three homers. He struck-out two while his ERA rose to 5.27 ERA with blistering pace.
