Milwaukee Brewers thrash the Chicago White Sox by 13-7 - MLB Update
The Milwaukee Brewers mounted a surge on Monday, April 02, to beat the Chicago White Sox by 13-7 at Glendale, Arizona. Although the offence remained highly charged up, the defence – much to Zack Greinke’s chagrin, could not quite hold its ground.
The starting pitcher remained costly in Monday’s game whereby he gave up no less than six runs, five of which were earned runs. He just threw three innings to face the White Sox offence.
Greinke admitted it was a bad game for him as he wanted to throw quality pitches only. "I was looking forward to making a good start," he said. "It was just a bad one. They were taking a lot of pitches. I was getting behind then not making quality pitches."
However, the team manager Ron Roenicke did not seem much concerned with whatever transpired as the end result favoured the team as a whole. This also lays out the fact that the team is imbuing with confidence.
"He's been so lights out in the spring, let's get this one out of the way and he'll get back on track and do what he's been doing," Roenicke said.
The White Sox’s starter Gavin Floyd did not really have a good spell either whereby he gave up no less than four runs in the 4 2/3 innings that he pitched. It is important to recall that he will have the Opening Day soon.
While the Milwaukee Brewers will have their exhibition games against the Arizona Diamondbacks this week, prior to the Opening Day game, the White Sox will go against the Houston Astros --- games that are awaited by the fans.
Much as Greinke’s game was not probably up to the mark, the preparedness of the Brewers for the Opening Day game against the St. Louis Cardinals remains beyond any shadow of doubt. With the strong offence and defence dotting the team, the Brewers will be hard nut to crack.
It will be interesting to see how the competitive the game between the Brewers and the Cardinals remains as both have the capability to outrival each other at any given day.
