Milwaukee Bucks Brandon Jennings carries on training despite of the Lockout: NBA Update
The 21 year old, third year point guard of the Milwaukee Bucks, Brandon Jennings has not stopped training despite of the fact that the National Basketball Association (NBA) players are not allowed to use the franchise work out facilities during the lockout.
Currently residing in Baltimore, Jennings is still working out in a private facility in order to stay in shape and tone up his game. During a photo shoot on Monday Jennings revealed,
"I'm just training and just living. The main thing is being consistent and to keep working."
Jennings will head back to Milwaukee in a couple of weeks time, not to visit the franchise facility or to meet with any employee, but to conduct a two day basketball camp that will commence from August 11. Jennings conducted the camp in the previous summer too and roughly 300 youngsters attended it.
Recently, the point guard took some time out and went to see his younger brother, Terrence Phillips game. His brother plays for an Atlanta-based team under-14 team that achieved third place at the national level competition.
Talking about that, he said "He's been watching me all these years. He played football, so he's stronger than I was at this stage. He takes the ball to the rack more than I did at that age."
Brandon is a skilful player, and despite of an injury, he had an excellent last season with the Bucks. He played 63 games in the season and tallied 16.2 points per game on a 0.390 percent shooting from the floor. He has been in the spotlight fo9r a while now. Nearly two weeks back, he expresses a desire to become an All-Star.
Jennings also revealed that unlike the majority of NBA player, he is not planning an overseas stint at the moment. However, if the lockout prolongs to a lengthy period, he said, "I feel if it does drag out, any player would consider going overseas."
At the moment, Jennings is doing all sorts of trainings that include boxing and martial arts too, so he can improve his strength. On the basketball court, he is working out with former Duke player Jason Williams. Jennings can go to any gym in Baltimore because of his sponsor Under Armour. He pulled the contract with the brand when he was just 19 years old in 2008 and became the first basketball shoe endorser for the company.
