Milwaukee Bucks edge out Cleveland Cavaliers; Los Angeles Lakers rally pass the Hornets: NBA Roundup

Drew Gooden hammered his second career triple-double with 15 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds, Ersan Ilyasova dropped 22 points, grabbed eight rebound and made 2 blocks while Mike Dunleavy posted 21 off the relief as Milwaukee
Bucks won their fourth straight game, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 115-105.
The Cavs were led by 28 points and 5 assist from Kyrie Irving. After hanging tough through most of the first quarter, they reeled off a 7-0 run in the last 1:33 to carve out a 28-23 lead. The Bucks bounced right back with an 11-2
run to start the second, but the Cavaliers stayed within a striking range and by the time, the first half ended they were only behind by 2, 55-57.
Six unanswered points at the start of the third quarter gave the Cavaliers a 4 point lead, but the Bucks fought their way back into an 84-76 lead with a 8-1 run late. They entered the 4th with a 84-78 advantage and scored
the first 6 to carry it into double figures at 90-78. The Bucks maintained the lead entering the last five minutes of the game and then pulled the trigger with a 9-0 spurt to put the game to bed.
Los Angeles Lakers 107 – New Orleans Hornets 101
In the second time in as many nights, the Los Angeles Lakers came back from a 17 point deficit and went on to beat the opposite team in overtime. Last night, it took the Lakers two overtimes to beat the Memphis Grizzlies. Tonight,
they finished the matter in just one.
Kobe Bryant was huge again. The Black Mamba pounded the Hornets with a game-high 33 points, while Andrew Bynum posted 25 points and 18 rebounds as the Lakers pulled a 107-101 heist and strengthened their hold on the third place
in the Western Conference.
Late in the first quarter, with the scores at 16-17, Chris Kaman split a pair of free throws to initiate a 22-7 run spanning the first and the second quarter to for 38-26 lead, one which they stretched to 54-40 at the break.
The Lakers came down hard after the break, outscoring the Hornets 30-16 to tie the game at 70 as the teams headed for the fourth quarter.
Hornets jumped out to a seven point lead right at the start of the fourth, but the Lakers pulled right back and then kept the Hornets scoreless in the last two minutes to take the game into overtime.
The extra period was all about Bryant. He started off with a three point play, nailed a floater on the next possession and then calmly slipped a pair of free throws deep to seal the game.
