Milwaukee Bucks guard Brandon Jennings doing an internship: NBA Update
Milwaukee Bucks guard Brandon Jennings is presently undergoing an internship programme at the athletic apparel company’s headquarters and using the National Basketball Association (NBA) lockout to gain some knowledge about footwear
industry. He is attending the Under Armour’s footwear department as an internee in the company. Jennings told the media about his new and interesting experience as an internee in footwear department.
Jennings said, “Right now we’re in lockout, so in Milwaukee we can’t use any of the facilities or talk to any of the NBA coaches, I felt like this is just a great opportunity and place for me where I can just focus and get better.
It’s a totally different training that I have done before; I’ve put on a little bit more weight. I’m probably like 180 pounds now, which is really good.”
Jennings, who is currently playing with the Milwaukee Bucks, also represents Under Armour and endorses their footwear apparels. Through the internship, he has been given a fine opportunity to use his spare time and see how things
are done in the big market of sports apparel industry.
Brandon Jennings is an NBA star though and a star like him always gets treated in a special manner. Although, he is working as an internee in the company, but the level of perks he has given are massive.
From office to his car, everything is given in top state with a name plate of “Curator of Cool.” that also states his designation in the company.
Under Armour is a renowned sports gear company. Brandon Jennings and Under Armour have a long relationship since 2008, when its top management showed utter belief in Jennings, who was rookie then, and signed him as a product endorser
for their company.
Jennings, who had just completed his high School studies, signed with the Under Armour and this relationship is still heading in a very positive manner. Last year, Under Armour’s director of pro basketball sports marketing had
a detailed meeting with Jennings and several other Bucks’ team management staff in Baltimore where Jennings seemed very excited to see a basketball court in the building.
He had requested the director to use the facility in the offseason at that time. Not only he was given the permission to use the facility, but he was also offered an internship programme next summer.
Dave Dombrow, who is a creative director for footwear in Under Armour, told the media about role with their company and said, “We are kind of using him in an unorthodox way, and He’s a kid that’s 21 that has a stylish point of
view. We want to take that stylish point of view and put it on product.”
