Minalisa expected to win Martin Foulger Memorial Handicap
The Rae Guest trained bay filly, Minalisa, is expected to seal sterling success in the Martin Foulger Memorial Handicap that will be held at Yarmouth racecourse on Monday, July 30. The Class 4 contest over 6 furlongs and 3 yards will begin at 3:15 (GMT).
The three-year-old novice filly will run against seven strong rivals on the good to firm track that she has not experienced yet in her two-race career.
The brilliant daughter of Oasis Dream out of Mina started her career on June 21, 2012, winning the LMG Smartspace Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Warwick track. Despite being the non-favourite runner, she delivered an impressive performance that stunned both the bookmakers and the sport fans alike.
The C. J. Mills bred and owned fantastic filly stepped forward to finish as a runner-up in the Wilfred Underwood And Philip Underwood Memorial Classified Stakes, held at Pontefract on July 2. She was the 15-2 favourite for that race.
With these two epic performances, Minalisa has marvellously established herself as the hot favourite candidate for today’s marathon. If the filly runs to her best, she will have up to 90 percent chances to finish first.
However, Minalisa will have to face a lot of resistance from Soap Wars who has a number of outclass performances and feats to his name. The Hugo Palmer trained bay gelding nicely gained a third and a runner-up rank in a row during August-September 2011.
The talented son of Acclamation out of Gooseberry Pie stepped forward to finish as the runner-up against a dozen of rivals in the Great Yarmouth Christmas Party Handicap (Div I) on October 10.
The experienced horse again gained the second spot in his last start at Yarmouth. That was the Well Balanced Ledger At J&H Simpson Handicap, held on July 24.
In this situation, a neck-to-neck clash will be witnessed between Soap Wars and Minalisa. The thrill-laden race will attract a large number of the sport lovers. Let us get to the stadium to enjoy the live action. Good luck to all the contestants who are going to entertain their fans after a few hours.
