Mince likely to thrive in Betfred “The Bonus King” Stakes (Heritage Handicap)
The Roger Charlton-trained chestnut filly, Mince, seems to be a strong candidate for the Betfred “The Bonus King” Stakes (Heritage Handicap) that is going to take place at Newmarket racecourse on Friday, July 13. The Class 2 race over 6 furlongs will begin at 1:50 (GMT).
On the soft ground, the three-year-old young and momentous runner will show her guts against 19 worthy competitors. If wins, she will bring home £62,250.
The talented daughter of Medicean out of Strut has made some glaring marks in her 7-race career. During September-October 2011, the skilled sprinter bagged a couple of consecutive conquests, one each at Newbury and Pontefract.
The Lady Rothschild-owned talented runner nicely finished as a runner-up in the Vecprint Nursery over 5 furlongs at Haydock on October 14. She extended her winning momentum to 2012 and gained another second spot at Newmarket on May 5.
The maverick racer marvellously clinched first position in the Coralchampionsclub.CO.UK Sprint Trophy (Handicap) over 6 furlongs again at Newmarket. She was the 3-1 favourite for the event that took place on May 19.
The filly failed to do well in her last outing at Haydock, finishing 7th against 9 rivals despite being the 15-8 best-priced runner.
However, her previous achievements speak volumes of her skills and capabilities. Mince is likely to demonstrate a solid performance in today’s contest with a view to carry the day.
Sholaan is the runner who can prove to be fairly fatal for the filly. The William Haggas-trained bay gelding elegantly broke his maiden in Wolverhampton-Racecourse.CO.UK Maiden Stakes (Div II) over 7 furlongs on May 4, 2012.
The son of Invincible Spirit out of Jazz Up again accomplished a tremendous triumph in the Bond Tyres Trophy (Handicap) at York on June 16.
These two successful ventures boosted up the young horse’s morale to a great extent. He finished third in his last start. Now, he is well-prepared to challenge Mince in the coming contest.
Thus, there is anticipated to be a neck-to-neck battle between the gelding and the filly. Let us see who of duo turns to be the champion. Good luck to both.
