Mince tipped to win CoralChampionsClub.co.uk Sprint Trophy (Handicap)
Mince is tipped to win the CoralChampionsClub.co.uk Sprint Trophy (Handicap) at Newmarket in England on Saturday, May 19, 2012. The winner of the class-2 event will walk away with a cash prize of £24,900.
The going will be good to firm in the 6 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 14:45 GMT and a total of 17 entries have been confirmed for it. Their names are as follows: Mince, Bartolomeu, Fairway To Heaven, Democretes, Pea Shooter, Kimbali,
Responsive, Dark Castle, Rafeej, Top Cop, Accession, Hurry Up George, Church Music, Dishy Guru, Lady Gorgeous, Alejandro and Tioman Legend.
Earlier, 20 runners had lined up for action in the race, but Heerat, Gabriel’s Lad and Safari Sunseeker are doubtful now.
Looking at the performances of Mince, the bookmakers have rated her as the favourite to prevail at Newmarket. Her recent form has been good, which will encourage the punters to place the maximum number of bets on her.
The three-year-old filly has participated in five events until now, winning a couple of them and finishing runner up on the same number of times. She only dropped out of the top three once when she was making her debut in the sport. However, she has
improved a lot since then, thus it will be difficult to stop her from winning.
In her most recent race, the Roger Charlton’s trainee finished runner up by just a head distance. She was rated as the favourite to win, but failed to finish on top of the table in the end.
Mince has got very good speed, which will make her a strong contender for victory in the race. She will be partnered by Frankie Dettori, who has won numerous races in his career and is considered to be one of the best riders in the business.
On the other hand, Pea Shooter might also manage to attract some bets in his favour. He has won once out of four attempts and also managed to secure the runner up and third place on the same number of times.
The three-year-old gelding seems to be in decent form at the moment, as he ended up first in his most recent outing. He will definitely be the one to watch out for at Newmarket.
