  1. Well they are aimed at totally different markets. The Cooper is a pocket rocket for trendies to zip around the city and go shopping.

    The Beemer is a fun weekend car that has space inside and can cover freeway trips without a problem.

    It all depends what you want to use it for.


  2. Keep in mind that they're both BMWs (where reliability and engineering are concerned), but they have quite a few differences. This article points out that performance and acceleration are completely different... the Mini has a lot of "surge", but the BHP of the BMW is much smoother - more powerful.

    I like the Mini's styling, but the BMW might actually be more of a "driver's car" - or a car that someone who knows about driving would choose (I haven't driven either of them). It seems like it would also have all of the fun, but have a more "adult" ride and appearance.

    Test drive them both and stomp on the pedal... take some turns and see which one you like.
