Question:

Mini-DV out causing problems ?

I plugged in a Mini-DV to S-Video into my new macbook in order to connect it to my TV so I could watch a movie, however plugging it in enlarged everything, including windows and text and the icons on my desktop, however made the icons on the dock smaller. Upon unplugging the mini-dv in didn't go back to how it should have been. How do I make it go back to normal?

I've tried restarting it, as well as plugging and unplugging the mini-dv back in and out. It's so bad that when I open up new windows, the window expands bigger than the entire screen, past the dock and everything, and everything that comes up is noticeably larger and more magnified.

HELP! :)

  1. a couple things. system preferences > displays then select the max res available for ur laptop.

    while tv attached

system preferences > displays > mirror/extend desktop. extend rather than mirror.

system preferences > mouse and keyboard > trackpad > trackpad gestures > zoom.

right click on desktop > show view options > icon size.

on ur dock there is a place u can drag it to make ur dock bigger or smaller or

system preferences > dock > size

  2. Have you tried changing the screen resolution yourself? Right click on an empty space on the desktop and click "Properties">>Settings. Move the slider to a higher resolution (to the right) and click "Apply". If its just a resolution problem it should be fixed there.

    Hope this works.
