Mini DV to DVD?

Question

Can anyone help me i am tearing my hair out i have seen a device for converting the mini dv camcorder tapes on to a DVD but i can't seem to find it anywhere i think it is made by Sony any ideas or useful links to websites would be much appreciate thanks!!!

Get yourself a Firewire cable ( IEEE 1394 ) and make sure your PC has a Firewire port as well. Both Cable and PC are pretty cheap these days. Once you have it connect your Camcorder to the PC whilest the Camcorder is in Play position. The PC will detect it and there you are.

From this point it is up to you to choose wich program to use to import the raw video ( takes a loooooot of space though) the native DV format is 25 MB/sec

I use Cyberlink PowerDirector for my DV recording and editing. But if you are on XP you have working solution in build - Windows movie maker.
