can anyone with a full uk driving licence drive a 16 seater mini bus?

  1. yes it just the same as driving a van


  2. No - you need to do a special driving test.

  3. If you passed your test before 1997 it's o.k  otherwise you are limited to an 8 seater unless you take an additional test. Had this problem at work with younger drivers.

    If you got your car driving license before 1998, you can drive on a minibus voluntary, non-professional basis - though many companies will ask you to take a test anyway for insurance purposes.

    If you passed after 1998, you have to pass a D1 test, including a theory test, a hazard perception test, and a long practical test.

  5. Not legally.

    You need a PCV licence (Passenger Carrying Vehicle).

    To get this, you need to pass a medical examination and satisfy the Traffic Commisioner that you are of good repute, before you can obtain a provisional PCV licence.
