Is there like a VHS adapter in which i can put my mini dv tape in so that it could be played in a VCR? I need to turn in my recording for a class project and the teacher needs to be able to see it at her house. so i dont want to give her cables or my camera for her to watch it. nor do i want to get all technical and convert it on the computer. i just want to be able to buy something so she can watch it from home.

  1. There is no VHS adaptor, VHS is analog and Minidv is digital. You will have to download your minidv camcorder via firewire connection. Then you can burn your project to a DVD.

  2. There is no adapter for VHS. Do this: Connent your camcorder to VCR input. Put a blank in VCR. Start playback on your minidv. Push record on VHS. Give to teacher the vhs tape u recorded.

  3. No... there is no "adapter. miniDV tape is a lot narrower than VHS - and even if it was the same width, VHS players are generally looking for analog signals on the tape - miniDV - Digital Video - records digitally - not using analog.

If it is in your computer, save is as a .avi... then burn a CD or DVD and give that disc to your teacher... or - if it small enough, email it... or if it is too big to email, upload it to YouSendIt.com and have your teacher download it.

  4. There is no adaptor, but you can transfer it over to VHS if you hook it up right. Hook your mini dv camera (or player, which ever you have) to your VCR and transfer it that way.
