MiniDV Digital Camcorder question?

Question

ok can you hook a mini dv camcorder of any kind to a computer to get like a web cam, and can u hook it to a computer to upload a video file, or are those just Hard drive camcorders, if u have ever seen icarly freddie use's a Canon XL1s Professional MiniDV Digital Camcorder to get a live show on his computer like a web cam, but i know those are just props, but if they did it for real would that work, thanks.

You can have a digital camera showing the display on your computer through an S-Video cable. But you must have an S-Video input in your computer. Most computers only have S-Video outputs, and it will not work that if you only have an S-Video output in your computer. It will only work with an S-Video input. It is also possible to hook it up to an S-Video input in your TV, and have the display on your TV instead.
