  1. I use Sevin on my rose bushes and I dont have problems with bugs

  2. There are several steps that I follow the first being soaping, if that doesn't work I'll go spend a few bucks on some ladybugs. Then if that still hasn't done the trick I'll dust with diatomaceous earth. Finally as a last resort I'll use a pesticide such as malathion or in extreme cases orthene. Pesticides are an absolute last resort. I work in a wholesale nursery and I know insects over time will build resistances to pesticides. These are the methods I use at home.

  3. You probably have white aphids. The cheapest and best cure is to spray them with soapy water. I catch some of the water from my washing machine in a bucket and toss it on.

  4. It might be white fly.  You could try throwing some water containing washing up liquid over them or buy Rose Clear.

  5. Every time you water your rose and a few drops of sunlight liquid dish soap to the water. This will help keep the bugs away. I do this with all my new indoor plant.
