Miniature pony show

I'm going to my first Miniature horse show at the end of the month.

Although this is my first Miniature horse show, In the past I have ridden larger galloways and hacks in the rings.

So It's not like I'm not going to something that I'm totally not prepared for.It is my Miniature pony's first show aswel.I am just abit lost in how the rings work.I have recieved a guide book from my ponies regestered society which states the basic of what is expected.I really want to know the nitty gritty of the classes.I have bought a nice little show halter and am going to clip him about a week before the show (it is winter here and he has a very fluffy coat) and yes, I have the rugs, stables for him after he has been clipped. So if anyone has any tips on what I should be prepared for or what I should help my pony achiveve would be greatly apreciated.

  1. make sure he is well behaved and will trot next to you.(i show a connemara and the first led show i brought her to she would not trot for me!!)

  2. I would go onto youtube and find videos of miniature horse shows and watch them and contact the people who posted the video.. Or contact local breeders or people who have websights..

  3. I would try really hard to not be the first in the ring,  if necessary let the other exhibitors or the ring steward know that this is your first miniature show, and you are a little nervous.maybe even ask to be last in the ring.   then watch them.   try to copy the most professional looking ones.  be ready for this to be a learning experience even though you have shown before, each breed has there particulars.  Take a deep breath and have FUN!
