Minidress supplemented to the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot
Godolphin have decided to run their filly, Minidress, in the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot, on 21st June, 2012, who is under the training of Mahmood Al Zarooni, where she will aim to dominate
the 1 mile and 4 furlong course.
The daughter of Street Cry, out of mare Short Skirt, has been added to the line-up as a supplement, and she will have to fight at least twenty-one other runners for a solid finish.
The Godolphin owned Kailani will also run in the hope of toning up, since she finished in seventh place in the Investec Oaks at Epsom.
Despite this setback, the three-year-old has shown promise before, when she sealed a victory in the Tweenhills Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket on 6th May, 2012, and defeated, Hazel Lavery, by 7 lengths.
A.P. O’Brien is all set to saddle another victory, and as usual he dominates the line-up with five entries including Beach Of Falesa, Betterbetterbetter, Kissed, Twirl, and Up.
Trainer Hughie Morrison has decided to run Shirocco Star, but he believes that, Coquet, is not ready for racing yet.
"Shirocco Star will run but I've decided to give Coquet more time."
"I worked both of them and Coquet has not quite recovered from her exertions while Shirocco Star appears to have had no exertions at all and seems to enjoy her racing."
Shirocco Star, daughter of Shirocco, out of mare Spectral Star, competed in the Group 1 Investec Oaks at Epsom where she was defeated by a neck to the A. P. O’Brien trained, Was.
In the same race, Coquet finished in sixth place and needs a little more time to get back on the track.
The Fugue, trained by John Gosden for owners, Lord Lloyd-Webber, finished third in the Investec Oaks, but she might be able redeem herself in this race because she has demonstrated exquisite potential before when she triumphed in the Group 3 Tattersalls
Musidora Stakes at York on 16th May, 2012.
This competition will test the stamina of all the runners involved, but it is one of the most anticipated races of the meet.
