  1. I'm flying alone for the first time in two weeks time, I'm 15.

I'm flying with Delta so I don't know if every U.S. airline follows these policies, but at my age.. I don't need anyone with me, although I think someone has to show I.D. when they drop me off and pick me up at either end.

  2. Most airlines accept children  and over if you pay the fee for supervision on an unaccompanied minor.  Children over 12 are usually allowed to fly without spervison if the parents wish.  See site below to read United Airline's policies.  You will need to call your airline to ask their policy...and all airlines require a phone call if a child will be flying alone.

  3. I've flown alone from the age of 8, and my siblings have flown alone from the age of 4.  Once I was 12, I stopped flying as an unaccompanied minor, while 16 is usually the maximum age you can be to participate in one of these programs =]

  4. The minimum age for an unaccompanied minor is 5 years old. Some airlines charge for the service, some don't. It all depends on the particular airline. They also have different rules on the maximum age for a UM. You would have to determine where the child is going to and from, what airlines use those routes, and what their policies are. It takes a bit of homework.
