Last time I checked it was 15years & 6 months minimum age to work within certain hours of the day & week.  Ask your school for the papers to have your potential employer fill out.  They keep their work permits in the main office.  You won't get one if your have poor grades or if the job is considered to be a dangerous job.  Most large corporate stores only hire an 18 years old, due to insurance purposes.  But some still do have a youth student work program where they can legally pay students less than the going minimum wage to train them to become future long term employees & better trained than the average bear..
