I have just interviewed with another company and it appears that the job is nearly mine. One catch is I have to be able to get approved for an american express corporate card. I was wondering what the minimum credit score is. I have a 664 through experian. has anyone got an amex with less or close

  1. Of all the credit card companies, I know AMEX has the most demanding criteria as far as credit scores go. I don't know for sure, but with that type of score I don't believe you would qualify for any AMEX card.  I don't know if AMEX uses their own scoring model or not when they calculate credit scores.  Generally scores put out by individual bureaus aren't used by many creditors when credit is checked. Even so the score you have listed is in the fair range. Amex would have a more unforgiving scoring model IF they use their own scoring model. Again you should call AMEX and see what they do for credit checks when someone applys for a card. Id bet fairly safely that you wouldn't qualify with the score you said you had though. None the less, best of luck.

  2. For a corporate card through your new employer you should be fine.  One big thing is that if you ever had an amex account in the past and it charged off you will need to pay that in full first.
