Minimum wage for a waiter/waitress ???

I live in VA my mom is starting a waitress job in a few days. Whats minimum wage for a waitress In VA???????

Around $3.  Taxes and FICA will eat up her salary however so her paychecks will be $0.00

The current United States minimum wage of $6.55 per hour in the Commonwealth of Virginia, just like in other states, does NOT apply to wait staff. Employers are required by law to pay wait staff no less than $2.13 per hour. Waiters and waitresses are expected to bring their hourly salary up to $6.55 per hour by earning tips.

i bielive the minimum wage in america is now  8.25 or something like that

I think it is around $7.50? But I am not 100% exactly sure. Don't forget that waiters/waitresses recieve tips : )
