My partner would like to work in the australian mines as he thinks he will enjoy the challenge. He is such a hard worker etc but i was wondering if anyone knows of any mining jobs for someone who hasnt done it before but would not let their boss and work as much as he could. We are new zealanders by the way looking to move to Aussie to give our boy a great start in life. Thank you to all.

  1. theres a tonne of jobs going at the moment in the mines, fantastic money too,and the bosses love new zealand workers because we are knowen for our hard work, lol,my brother in law is off to the mines shortly to work acutally but as for a website im not too sure, but just do a google search and you will have an endless supply of information at your fingertips and as for the experience side of things, it doesn't matter they will train you up

  2. my husband has been working for mining contractors for years and has finally got a job with the actual mine, hes a large machine operator, moneys good but lot of hard work, being away from family for weeks on end etc, for unexperienced people would suggest jobsearch.gov.au or check out rio tinto, bma, bhp, goldings, roche, leightons, curragh, q mag, anglo coal, web sites these are all central / north qld sites, good luck

  3. try infomine.com.  they have a career site with international mining jobs--some open (without membership).  There is also a listing on the right side of the page showing the main companies that use the site--you might recognize some Australian companies and it will lead you to their websites.  BHP Billiton is the largest mining company in the area (and one of the largest in the world)

  4. What kind of job are you looking for? You can work in the mining industry while working in the city. But I don't think thats what you mean. Sorry, I'm not an expert at this, but I do know that the large mining companies are in dire need or more workers, so they will train you and you get paid very well. On the down side you have to live in a mining community.

  5. Queenstown/West Coast of Tasmania, www.barminco.com.au they train you and everything, good money too!
