Question:

Ministry of Sound 4x40w car stereo, what speakers?

Ok I know nothing about stereo's but I have a 4x40w CD/stereo in my car, one of my speakers is vibrating (they are factory fitted 20w speakers) I am looking to replace them but have no idea of the wattage etc. i would need that will be compatible and sound good, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

  1. It is quite likely that it isn't the actual speakers that are vibrating. I drive an Astra Van, and the little k**b on the window winder vibrates if I have the radio too loud, it could be a part of the vehicle you drive, or even something loose in the car, coins etc.  Although your speakers are rated at 20 watts, that could be RMS, Peak or max. Your radio is probably 40 watts RMS, but your speakers should be OK for that. If you do buy new ones, make sure they are the same size, and listen to them first, audio is a very personal thing. When you fit them also make sure they are phased correctly, so the wire with a stripe on goes to the same terminal on each speaker.
