Minnesota Lynx 90 - Connecticut Sun 67
On Saturday night, rookie Maya Moore racked up a season-high 26 points, on a 9 for 14 shooting from the field and 6 of 9 from three-point range, as Minnesota Lynx cruised past the Connecticut Sun 90-67 at Target Center. This victory
tied Minnesota’s best 10-game start in team history, pulling them into a tie with San Antonio Silver Stars for first position in the Western Conference.
Seimone Augustus scored 20 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out three assists while Rebekkah Brunson ended with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the second consecutive victory of Minnesota.
Renee Montgomery scored a team-high 14 points, grabbed four rebounds and stole two to lead Connecticut. Asjha Jones contributed 13 points and four rebounds while Kelsey Griffin added 12 points and five rebounds in the loss.
Minnesota shot 48.6 percent from the floor and limited Connecticut to just 34.6 percent. In a tightly contested first half of the game, the top scorer of the show Moore paced Lynx with 14 points as they held a 44-43 lead at halftime.
 
The hosts broke the game in the third quarter, outscoring Connecticut 23-6 and carried a 67-49 lead into the fourth. Lynx stretched their lead to 20 points with 05:05 to go in the last quarter and never looked back.
Seattle Storm 99 – Los Angeles Sparks 80
Swin Cash scored 16 of her game best 26 points in the third quarter and grabbed four rebounds as Seattle Storm bounced back from their previous defeat with a 99-80 win over the slumping Los Angeles Sparks at Key Arena. It was Los
Angeles’ sixth straight defeat on the road.
Tanisha Wright shot 6 for 11 from the floor, 2 for 4 from three-point range and 7 for 8 from the line and finished with 21 points and three steals. Sue Bird had 17 points and eight assists while Katie Smith added 13 points, six
rebounds and five assists in the victory. Lecoe Willingham totalled 12 points and seven rebounds for Seattle, who beat the Sparks for the eighth consecutive games in Seattle, since their last defeat in 2006.
Rookie Jantel Lavender led the Sparks with a career-high 21 points and a game-high nine rebounds. DeLisha Milton had 19 points, five rebounds and had two steals while Kristi Toliver added 17 points and five assists in the loss.
Los Angeles held a 21-18 lead at the end of the first quarter and Seattle trimmed it to just one, 39-38, after first half. Storm outscored the Sparks 32-21 in the third quarter, converting the halftime deficit into a ten-point
lead, 70-60. They opened the fourth quarter on a 9-2 run to stretch their lead to 17 points with 07:41 remaining and never trailed for rest of the game.
