Minnesota Lynx hold on to defeat San Antonio Silver Stars and extend winning streak to 7 games this season – WNBA Recap
After leading by as much as 50-29 at half time, Minnesota Lynx barely managed to secure a four point win victory against the San Antonio Silver Stars here at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
The Lynx were out played by the Silver Stars in the 2nd half but eventually clutched on to a 83-79 victory. Maya Moore and Rebekkah Brunson both added 17 points for the defending champions Minnesota, who are now 7-0
this season.
Danielle Adams led the San Antonio scoring with 21 points and 5 rebounds, going 7 of 14 from the field and 3 of 6 from beyond the arc.
“We're not going to watch the first half; we're going to watch the second half. Just the ability to finish off an opponent is something we're trying to find our way through. We had some good moments, but we're just disappointed
it became a game” said Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve.
Minnesota outscored the Silver Stars 24-17 in the first period, and continued their onslaught in the 2nd as well. Leading 26-20, the Lynx scored 9 straight points to stretch the lead to 35-20 with 5:26 remaining in the
half.

Stars woke up late in the third period, closing it on a 14-3 run to cut the deficit to 67-53.
Five straight points by Adams in the final minute of the game brought the Silver Stars to within four points of the Lynx. Jia Perkins was then fouled and scored on both free throw attempts to close the gap to 77-80. However, Minnesota
kept their cool and finished the game to win 83-79.
