Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Hornets: NBA teams depleted by injuries -- Part 4
Minnesota Timberwolves
Minnesota Timberwolves have more than their fair share of injuries this season. 2012-2013 was the season the Wolves were expected to compete with the big clubs of the league and make their presence felt. They had a slow start to
the season but are improving slowly and seem to be coming back on course, as their injured players start recovering.
Guard Ricky Rubio missed the most part of the season and is back on the team recently but the coach keeps his minutes on the court to minimum to make sure he has fully recovered from the March Knee surgery before pushing him to
full level.
Chase Budinger tore his meniscus last month and Brandon Roy had another round of surgery and is not expected to be back soon.
Josh Howard tore his ACL recently, and over top of that their star player Kevin Love missed 10 games due to a broken hand. He has recovered now and played a critical part recently when the Wolves put an end to the Oklahoma City
Thunder winning streak and handed them a defeat, snapping their 12 game winning streak.
Malcolm Lee also suffered an injury to his right knee, so Wolves remain the hardest injury hit team by any margin but they have been doing ok so far with the problems they have been facing.
 New Orleans Hornets
The Hornets were looking to start the 2012-2013 season on a better note. But with a sting of injuries to key players they have had a very poor start to the season and have the third worst record in NBA so far.
Anthony Davis suffered a stress reaction in his previously injured left ankle.
Shooting guard Eric Gordon remains out with a patella tendon disorder and a bone bruise and has not yet started practicing with the Hornets team. And if that was not enough, Jason Smith has a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
On paper combining Davis, Gordon, Ryan Anderson and Greivis Vasquez yields a very strong squad and with of all of them playing together is a delicious thought. But with injuries to one or another has kept the Hornets from reaching
their potential this season, hopefully they will improve as the season progresses.
