Minnesota Timberwolves’ Kevin Love all set to take on Chicago Bulls after resting – NBA Update
Kevin Love has enough love for basketball to keep him away from the game the rest of the season. What would it have been like watching the Minnesota Timberwolves playing without the All-Star for the rest of the remaining season? The 22-year-old who was out
for three consecutive games to rest strained left groin is likely to return to the court after sitting out three games.
The rest period included a two game road trip and a home game against the Boston Celtics. Three games were enough time for the player to take the stress out of his engine and get ready for the next contest that awaits him. Love returned to the practice court
and fully participated with team-mates, getting ready to face the mighty Chicago Bulls. Minnesota will host the National Basketball Association Eastern Conference’s Bulls Wednesday night at the Target Center.
The player said that he was feeling pretty good and had full practice in Tuesday’s session. When asked about the strain he lately felt he stated that it took him some extra time to get himself started and once he was done with it, he did not feel any resistance
and it did not tighten up on him.
The Wolves forward is expected to be in the line-up and start the game for his team on 30 March. According to the All-Star forward all his systems are a go and he is all set to get back into action.
The player who had planned not to miss a single game this season could not score a single point in his team’s loss to Sacramento Kings on 20 March. The groin injury confined him from playing and Love could only dish out four assists and grab three rebounds
in 14 plus minutes. After that he missed three games in a row, including a 104-96 loss to Dallas Mavericks, 111-103 loss to Oklahoma City Thunder and a downslide against the Boston Celtics, 85-82.
Anthony Randolph had a clearing to open the games for the missing All-Star and he filled in very well. The 21-year-old opened all three games for the superstar and scored a whopping 31 points to go along with 11 rebounds in the loss to the Mavericks. He
contributed 24-points and grabbed 15 boards in the contest against Oklahoma, but failed to make considerable impact against the defensive Boston Celtics. Kevin Garnett, the Celtics power forward, chased the player down the court and left him with three meager
points at the end of the loss.
As mentioned above Love had decided not to miss any game this season and he was in the lime-light for his double-double streak of 53. The player broke Moses Malone’s double-double streak of 51 and was on the verge of tying Elvin Hayes’ longest double-double
streak of 55. It was however the irony of fate that Love got his streak broken and ultimately this injury took its final toll to keep the basketball lover off the court.
Minnesota’ coach Kurt Rambis had even said that the player might not be able to continue the season and may not play the remaining games. Love, however laughed at the idea of that and said, “…that’s just Kurt being Kurt.”
The excitement begins when the Wolves come face to face with three top teams of the Eastern Conference from 30 March through 2 April. The Wolves may not be going to the play-offs, but to play for the sake of the game is fun in itself. Bring it on Chicago.
