Minnesota Timberwolves centre Brad Miller optimistic about his future; thinking ahead of NBA
Minnesota Timberwolves star Brad Miller is looking optimistic about his future. The burly centre who underwent a knee surgery recently rubbished all notions that his performance on the court will not be the same after the procedure
Miller said, “I never really had a jumping burst, that’s the joy. I don't have to worry about losing it. That first quick step, that's already been gone. So I'm pretty well set up.”
Miller made these comments at the Noble Hawk Golf Links while hosting his eighth Annual Brad Miller Big Brothers Big Sisters golf outing in Kendallville.
Further shedding the light on he plans to return to action, Miller said, “I'm not in a big hurry to get back, the knee is coming along slowly, and we have things going on with the league. So I'm just going to take my time and get
healthy so I can go hunt later in life and keep up with my daughter.”
The 12 year veteran admitted the fact that he does not have too many year left in NBA and with age catching fast, he will have to call it quits at some time or the other.
“I’m starting to realize how many years I got to play and all the experiences I had,” the former Purdue standout said. “It’s about that time to start a new chapter in my life. Expand on this even more. We can really have some fun
with it.”
Miller, who has his roots in rural Northeast Indiana, described his hometown as the best living place. He started playing in the suburbs of Kendallville, NI, and eventually went to the Purdue University. His tremendous ball play
made him famous at the Purdue where he played wonderfully for almost three years.
In his senior year with Purdue, he averaged 17.2 points, 8.8 rebounds becoming only the fourth player in Purdue University’s history who scored 1500 points, 800 rebounds, and 250 assists. Miller’s tremendous amateur performances
helped him start a professional career in the NBA in 1998, when he joined the Charlotte Bobcats.
