Minnesota Timberwolves not bothered by dismal start

The Minnesota Timberwolves are having a dismal start this season, as they dropped six of their first seven games, and they are not just simply losing ball games, their opponents are dominating
them badly.

Despite the horrible start that they are having, head coach Kurt Rambis said that they are not bothered because they know that their team is still a work in progress, and he is asking for
patience from their supporters.

“Right now, we have a young, inexperienced team and if anybody thinks that's going to get turned around quickly and that it's going to happen magically overnight, they're sorely mistaken,”
said Rambis. “It just does not work that way. It just takes a long time for guys to connect so they are playing in a very cohesive manner.”

The Timberwolves, who are the youngest team in the league this season, currently stands in the cellar of the western conference standings with their 1-6 record, and are on a five-game losing
skid. Four of those five defeats were on the road, where they were defeated by an average of 30 points, including a 42-point loss against the Orlando Magic on 3 November.

On Sunday 7 November, the young Timberwolves were clobbered, 120-94, by the previously winless and injury-riddled Houston Rockets, who played without their two point guards, Aaron Brooks
and Kyle Lowry.

Timberwolves president of basketball operations David Kahn also defended their team and said that he should be blamed instead of Rambis because he is the one who built the team, although
he admitted that he is quite frustrated with their performance especially on the road.

“I don't like that we haven't been competitive on the road, and I recognize it needs to change, but I don't have a clock,” Kahn said. “If anybody deserves the blame, it would be me, and certainly
not Kurt, because I chose to have these players on this team.”

Both Rambis and Kahn are expecting that their team will be more competitive in the next few weeks, especially when their injured key players Jonny Flynn, Martell Webster, and Luke Ridnour
are all back in their fold.

The Timberwolves will try to snap their five-game losing skid, but it won’t be easy since they will be facing the defending champions and currently undefeated Los Angeles Lakers on 9 November
at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
