Minnesota Timberwolves bring in Dante Cunningham and Alexey Shved; Brandon Rush awaits an offer from Golden State Warriors
Minnesota Timberwolves acquire Dante Cunningham via trade
The Minnesota Timberwolves have reached an agreement with Memphis Grizzlies to add Dante Cunningham to their line up in exchange of Wayne Ellington.
Cunningham began his career playing for the Portland Trail Blazers, who drafted him in the second round back in 2009. Over the span of three seasons, he has represented three different teams and holds a career average of 5.2 points
and 3.3 rebounds. On the other hand, Ellington was drafted by the Wolves in 2009 and in three years has averaged 6.5 points and 1.9 rebounds in the 189 games he has played for Minnesota.
Brandon Rush is still waiting for an offer he likes
A restricted free agent with the Golden State Warriors, Brandon Rush is still considering every offer on the table for him. It is however highly unlikely that he will part ways with the Warriors as they have the option of matching
up any offer made for Rush.
Even though Golden State have been considering other players in the off-season as well with Carl Landry being one of their targets, they are most likely to bring back Rush next season. Since free agency began on July 1st,
Rush has been in constant talks with his agent as to what his future holds but does believe that he will be with the Warriors next season.
“It’s been going pretty well, just talking with some teams and trying to figure out where I’ll be next year,” said Rush. “Hopefully I’ll be back in Golden State.”
Minnesota Timberwolves sign Alexey Shved on a three year deal
In an attempt to fill up the backup position to star point guard Ricky Rubio, Minnesota Timberwolves have been considering various options and by signing Russian Alexey Shved, they believe they have found a perfect fit.
Minnesota has a signed Shved on a three year deal worth $10 million for three years. Shved has been playing for CSKA Moscow in the past few seasons and is a key member of the Russian national team as well.
In the Euro league last season, he averaged 10.6 points and 3.0 assists and upped his performances in the Russian league by averaging 11.3 points and 3.3 assists.
