Minnesota Twins Brian Duensing Looks for a consistent show in future- MLB News
Pitcher Brian Duensing has been playing in the Majors for four years now and has been a regular feature for the Minnesota Twins. He had a bright start in 2009 and 2010 but since his performance has been a little bit off, something that Brian will certainly
like to correct.
To date he has a 28-31 win-loss record with an ERA of 4.23 and a 1.38 WHIP. He has been a closing pitcher predominately and has taken that role in 103 of his 164 Major League appearances. He was originally drafted by the Minnesota ball club back in 2005
in the third round of the Major League Baseball Draft.
He played in the Minor League system for the Twins for a total of five seasons and for various teams from rookie class Elizabethton Twins to Triple-A Rochester Red Wings.
In a recent Interview to the mlb.com, he expressed his opinions on various issues. He was quite candid about the team’s performance during the 2012 season.
He believes that the team need to give a consistent show and after successful 2009 and 2010 seasons, when the team had made it to the post-season on both occasions, the team has done little in way of good work and needs to rebound, for its own sake and the
sake of the fans.
''Our goal is to win. The last couple years have been horrendous. I was on the team in both 2009 and 2010 and we made the playoffs both years, but the last two years have been unacceptable,'' Duensing told mlb.com.
Brian believes that the below par show was hard on the fans and the ball clubs needs to make a turnaround. He believes that the team’s main goal is to win and to be consistent.
''And not just as a player and as a team, but for the fans. They don't want to see that, so our main goal is to win and be consistent,'' Brian said.
He also wants his own performance to be useful for the team by being consistent. He thinks that he can perform well for the team and the eventual goal is to be able to win a World Series Championship for the Twins. Duensing knows that the road to that goes
through winning games on a consistent basis.
''I want to be consistent, whatever role I'm in. I want to be able to give our team a chance. Obviously, there's going to be ups and downs, but I think if everyone is consistent and can stay within themselves, it can turn around,'' he said.
Brian Duensing is an experienced pitcher who can be a useful member in the Minnesota Twins resurgence. It is important that all players from the Twins step up to the plate and own responsibility for the team’s performance and help it in making a big comeback
in 2013 season.
