Minnesota Twins appoint new manager for their Minor League affiliate – MLB News
The Minnesota Twins are going ahead with their rebuilding process and are now taking drastic steps forward from the grassroots level in order to improve their results next season.
The management of the Twins has now installed a new skipper Gene Glynn in one of their top Minor League affiliates, the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings. This has been to enhance the productivity of trained players for the Major League franchise.
The Twins’ senior director of Minor Leagues Jim Rantz officially announced the hiring and said, “The Minnesota Twins are very excited to have Gene Glynn join our organization, Gene's major league coaching background, exceptional knowledge of the game, and
his outstanding work ethic make him a tremendous fit to manage the Rochester Red
Wings.”
Later, Glynn, who was very excited to work in the Twins Minor League prospect and is looking forward to making a positive impact for the team.
Glynn is replacing Tom Nieto, whose performance certainly was very disappointing with an overall 102-186 win loss record in the last season.
The Twins’ management, who rely heavily on the Minor League trained players, were furious over the results and took a hard action to ratify the new manager’s need in the Twins’ Minor League affiliates.
The arrival of Gene Glynn in the Triple-A Rochester Red Wings will be a great advantage for the Twins. Minnesota had already mentioned in the media that they were not happy with the level of inconsistency in the Nieto’s reign and wanted to bring someone
who will understand the future baseball requirements of the Twins.
Glynn is highly talented and full of experience, having worked with Single-A Bend of Northwest League and also as manager in the Minor Leagues. His scouting job in the Tampa Bay Rays is the most prominent attribute of his professional career where he discovered
many dark horse Minor League players who then outshined in the biggest baseball league in the world.
It will be interesting to see what type of impact Glynn has for the Twins Minor League affiliate.
