Minnesota Twins’ interim general manager Terry Ryan boosts team environment – MLB News
The Minnesota Twins are looking in great shape to compete well in the next season as their newly appointed interim general manager Terry Ryan comes in the franchise with the hope of showing a consistence performance in near future.
Ryan is considered one of the best Major League executives for using low payroll and building up the Minor League teams. His arrival in the Twins will certainly boost the winning chances next season as he knows the Twins’ entire roster well as he worked
for them in the past.
This is not the first time that Terry Ryan has taken control over the Twins’ roster but he had also been part of the Minnesota based baseball franchise before in 2007.
Later, though, he left the Twins but remained in-tact as senior adviser for several years until receiving an opportunity again to become the GM of the organisation in late 2011.
The ups and downs are an interesting part of Terry Ryan’s professional career but he always remained committed to his job and that is the main reason why the Twins’ management has now appointed him as interim GM in the absence of a full time GM franchise.
Recently, the Twins general manager Bill Smith was fired by the top management after a poor performance in the 2011 Major League season.
After becoming an interim GM Ryan stated in the media with high hopes.
He said, “We have many assets in place including a strong front office, manager, coaching staff and players, We have a lot of work to do in relation to development of our roster, but I'm optimistic in our collective abilities to ensure the future on-field
success of this franchise.”
He added issuing a statement and said, “Working for the Minnesota Twins for the past 26 seasons has been the greatest privilege I could have ever imagined.”
The Twins’ management is also looking forward to work with Terry Ryan in the upcoming season and is hoping to extend their affiliation with him for the next few seasons.
