Minnesota Twins’ long-time outfielder Jason Kubel probably done negotiating with management

The Minnesota Twins have probably made some serious efforts this offseason when they added two new players in their roster but on the other hand, the Twins management now facing some serious trouble signing a new player for the same position where Josh Willingham
and Michael Cuddyer have been signed for next couple of seasons.
Willingham made his way into the Twins 40-man roster from the Oakland Athletics and Cuddyer came as free agent despite spending a year with the A’s.
However, signing two new outfielders still not suggest that the Twins have done and do not want any extra out-fielder in the team. This was officially revealed in the media when the Twins top management was present in the MLB’s annual general managers’ meeting
in Milwaukee and later attended the MLB’s annual winter meeting. Both these occasions proved a good platform for the Twins to raise their voice for needed players.
The Twins management tried to loud their voice for some outfielders and negotiated with several other franchises’ executives for the very need of some good outfielders in order to boost the results next season.
Twins’ assistant general manager Rob Antony also told some media representatives about Jason Kubel, who has been playing in the Twins for the last several years but not on a priority bases. He often plays in the Twins Minor League affiliates and whenever
the Twins’ Major League wants his services, they call him up to rescue them from the difficult situations.
Playing his first Major League game in 2004, Jason Kubel was called-in to the Minor League and before coming in 2006 he played a whole year in the Twins’ farm system. Later, he joined the team in 2006 and since then he is playing a good supporting role for
the Twins.
Meanwhile, since 2011 MLB season has over, the Twins have failed to offer a good deal to Kubel, who became free agent as his previous contract expired. Jason Kubel along with his agent, both have been contacted several times by the Twins’ management but
still no result has arrived as Kubel’s future with his long-time team.
On Wednesday, in a press conference, several reporters asked Kubel that what is the status of late negotiation between you and the Twins. Kubel said with confidence and told them that he does not see an optimistic end and these negotiations seem done for
him.
Kubel also explained little about the new acquisition of the Twins and said, “One thing is they want a right-handed bat, And Cuddy does everything (defensively). I don't know whether that made a negative impact or not.”
Later, the Twins’ assistant GM Rob Antony also said that there is no deal happening at the moment. He explained, “We're still looking for a right fielder with some power, it’s no secret. We have not called Kubel or his agent to tell them we've moved on."
This is now going to put more pressure on the Twins’ management as they have to take a solid decision within next few days of signing a good outfielder before the free agency market closes down next month. The training camps are also opening soon and with
no extra player in hand. The Minnesota Twins could face extraordinary difficulties to compete well in the entire 2012 competition.
