Minnesota Twins show interest to sign free agents Michael Cuddyer and Matt Capps – MLB News
The Minnesota Twins and their top management is now busy making a viable plan in order to improve their winning chances in the next Major League Baseball season.
Recently, some drastic changes have been made within the current roster and more changes are likely to come in the near future as well. The experts inside the franchise have suggested some very good things to the Twins’ management while these suggestions
are also very much needed in the team at the moment.
Firstly, when the Twins declined team options on Jason Kabul while many baseball analysts warned the Twins’ management that they have made a very critical decision not to exercise options on him and let him go. But recently, when the Twins’ manager Ron Gardenhire
spoke in the media regarding the preparations and the efforts for signing free agents Michael Cuddyer and Matt Capps, people began to see how swift the Twins are making progress on improving their future results.
Ron Gardenhire said, “There’s been an offer out there; both sides are talking, especially with Cuddyer. I know we're making a mad effort to sign him. We'd love to have Kubel back too. Whether we can get them either back or not, I'm not real sure on the budget
right now.”
Both these players become free agents as the 2011 season ended. Though, some news of re-signing these players was circulated in the media but later was confirmed that Capps and Cuddyer have officially filed for free agency and remained open for the next
season with any potential MLB team.
Now in many baseball experts’ eye, if the Twins are really thinking to sign both free agents, they must offer as early as possible as many other team are also thinking seriously to bring them into their franchises.
The Twins will not want to lose both Cuddyer and Capps, as they are tremendous players that make a positive impact on the performance of the team. It will be interesting to see what the Twins offer the two players for the future.
