Minnesota Twins’ will be ‘tough nut to crack’ in American League
Reports are coming in the media that the Minnesota Twins will be tough to beat next season for their excessive offseason preparations.
The Twins have already started training even before the MLB’s official training camps begins in a two month’s time. Some say that the Twins have acquired some good players in this offseason and this is the main reasons why their chances are high to topple majority of American League teams.
Terry Ryan, who is the Twins manager, recently spoke to the media and revealed little details about his franchise’s somewhat winning speculations for next season. He highlighted some of the positions respective to all new players who will start a new beginning with the Twins next season.
Terry explained in detail, “Willingham replaces Cuddyer. We signed Carroll because we had a need to solidify the middle of the infield. We did not make a lot of plays last season that we are used to making. So he came in. We signed Doumit because we needed somebody that gives us offense behind the plate when Joe (Mauer) needs a rest. Marquis takes the place of (Kevin) Slowey. He was off to a pretty good start for Washington last year. Mauer is fine -- he seems to be 100%. Morneau had wrist surgery.”
With all these new players, the Twins certainly have a huge chance next season to compete well in the 2012. These new players are relatively having some great experiences in the Minor League which will always help them play in the big league and against every top team including the Texas Rangers, New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers.
Last season, the Twins lost too many games down the stretch but now somehow they have planned a different strategy before approaching any new game. Twins coaches have told their players that first, they should focus more on home games, secondly they should be going with full self assurance against every team on the road as well. These two things might look little, but on a bigger picture, these things are highly productive in any professional game.
