Minnesota Vikings Percy Harvin on crutches due to sprained ankle – NFL News
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin got his ankle injured during Week 9 game against Seattle Seahawks.
In the third quarter of the game, he got his ankle twisted because of which he started limping. The pain worsened and swelling increased later on.
After medical examination, there were no signs of broken bones but he has three damaged spots near the joint. Since then he is using crutches.
According to the Associated Press, for the last three weeks pain in left hamstring was giving Harvin a hard time.
Harvin said:
“I'm in a lot of pain. There's a lot of swelling right now, my whole ankle, all the way around, is swollen. So we've got a lot of work to do."
The player is hopeful that he will heal up before the next game against Detroit Lions. He added:
"I'll be in treatment 24 hours and see if I can bounce back, I'm shooting to try to play and get everything I can. If I can’t then I'll have to rest it. But I'm not ruling myself out”
In this season, the receiver has a total of 62 receptions for 677 yards and three touchdowns. In the game against Seahawks, he had two receptions for 10 yards.
Harvin is tough and among the best offensive players Vikings have got. If he will not play in the next game it will be difficult for Vikings to win against Lions.
Tackle Letroy Guion is suffering from a toe injury and tight end John Carlson is also out due to concussion. In this case, another injury blow will seriously hurt Vikings.
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier still seems convinced that Harvin will be ready for the game on Sunday, he said:
“Harvin’s status is day-to-day and we’ll see how it goes.”
There is some optimism in this case because it does not take much time for a sprain to heal, but there are three sprains and nobody can say right now that what is going to happen.
