Minnesota Vikings continue their good start with 30-7 decimation of Tennessee Titans
The Minnesota Vikings were on the roll once again this week as they destroyed the hapless Tennessee Titans 30-7 on Sunday.
Wide receiver Percy Harvin and running back Adrian Peterson were once again the stars of the game for Minnesota as they ran rings around the Titans defence.
This was the third straight win for Minnesota who now go up to 4-1 and top of the National Football Conference (NFC) North division.
Harvin’s great start to the season continued as he made eight receptions for 108 yards while scoring a touchdown and he also had another touchdown on the rush.
Peterson on the other hand rushed for 88 yards from 17 carries as the Vikings completely dominated proceedings.
Quarterback Christian Ponder who himself passed for 258 yards and two touchdowns while throwing two interceptions his first this season lavished praise on Harvin after the game.
He said:
"A beast, that's probably a good way to describe him. We're going to keep giving him the ball."
The Vikings were in control throughout with the Titans unable to get on the score card till the fourth quarter.
Minnesota were up 23-0 at the end of the third quarter. The Titans finally scored early in the fourth quarter as quarterback Matt Hasslebeck who is standing in for the injured Jake Locker connected on a 10-yard touchdown pass with Jared Cook to make it 23-7.
However, the game was well beyond them by that time and Ponder sent another touchdown pass at the end to Kyle Rudolph to make it 30-7.
Rudolph said after the game that the Vikings cannot get excited with their good start just yet.
He said:
"If you get too excited over a 4-1 start, you'll drop one and you can't get that back.”
Titans coach Mike Munchak was not too pleased with his team’s second defeat in a row and said:
"We are who we are. There's no draft coming up. There's no adding more players and getting new coaches. This is the group we have, and with this group we have to play much better."
The Vikings great start to the season sees them comfortable at the top of the NFC North and their bottom to top story of this season continues.
